Long Range Plans
I encourage you to purchase gift cards through the Scrip card program at our school. The computer room is trying to raise money through this great program. This is an easy way to shop if you give gift cards for presents and our school also gets a percentage.
Field Trips/Activities

We plan to go to the Aquarium in October and Kentucky Downunder in the spring.
Activities
Power Words used at Jack Anderson Elementary School
Research has shown that certain words occur over and over again on standardized tests.
Understanding the meaning and use of these words has been proven to improve test scores.
Our goal at Jack Anderson is that every student will be familiar with all of the following powerful words. These power words are:
TRACE SUPPORT ANALYZE EXPLAIN INFER
SUMMARIZE EVALUATE COMPARE FORMULATE CONTRAST
DESCRIBE PREDICT
These words are found universally in tests for almost all grades and subjects.
We will be working on these power words throughout the year.
I encourage you to use them at home also.
Jack Anderson Spirit Days
A class (from each grade) that shows the most school spirit will be awarded the Jaguar Spirit Stick and receive a special treat. School colors are burgundy, white, and gray (class field trip t-shirts will not be counted this year). So show your spirit and wear the Jack Anderson colors.
