Note From the Teacher

Week of May 5-9

                      Please bring in a pillowcase for our end of the year project.  Thanks to all who chaperoned our field trip to Flick Farm last week--we had an awesome time!  We are looking forward to Field Day this Friday from 9-11:30.  If you did not order a lunch from the cafeteria, please remember to bring a sack lunch.  Hope to see everyone there!  Next week will be our last week of spelling.  We are finishing several books also and we are doing some fun activities like plays and brainteasers.

*Please remember to wear tennis shoes and return library books on the appropriate days.*

**We can only check books out until May 5th.  All books must be returned to the library by May 7th.**

  *Don't forget* Accelerated Reading Goals begin 2nd six weeks!

To meet their goal the students must qualify in 3 areas.

1.  Meet assigned point goal.                                                         

2. Meet assigned book level goal.

3. Achieve an average of 85% or better on all tests taken when the six weeks ends.

Weekly Assignments:

Saxon Math-*Monday through Thursday unless we have an assessment*  Students read aloud to an adult 15 minutes nightly-Monday through Thursday (reading folder must be signed nightly)

HOMEWORK CLUB

To qualify for homework club the students must not miss more than 3 reading assignments, homework assignments, or spelling/vocabulary folder signatures.  I have been a little forgiving this first six weeks as we are adjusting.  Beginning with the second six weeks the rules are firm.  It is very important they understand the importance of this responsibility--it will really help them next year!
