GENERAL MUSIC PERFORMANCE
Our general music performance program is for grades K-5. This class is held in our wonderful music classroom! In this class, students play pitched and unpitched instruments, sing multi-cultural songs, play music games, and move to music from different genres. We use the Share the Music series that Sumner County has selected for our music curriculum. We must say a special thanks to our PTO for giving us the opportunity to buy brand new Orff instruments and other unpitched instruments to use in our daily teaching!
 Our fourth graders will be performing on November 9th at the PTO meeting.

GENERAL MUSIC THEORY
Our general music theory program is for grades 2-5. This class takes place in the student's general education classroom. One of the music teachers travels to the classroom to teach the students about music theory. In this class, students learn about reading notes on the music staff, rhythm patterns, music games, ear training, and composition. In music theory, each class is broken up into four or five groups. In those groups, they rotate to different music related centers. This is our first year implementing this program, and we're thrilled that our students have the opportunity to learn this material at such a young age!
 We have started our recorder classes. I would like to encourge all 4th and 5th grade students to practice! Please don't forget your cleaning clothes and 3-ring binders. Thank you all for your cooperation.
4TH & 5TH GRADE SELECT CHORUS
Auditions went well. We have 40 strong singers and are preparing for our Christmas Program. The title of our program is "Can Christmas Be Saved?" We will be performing on December 7th for the school. That evening we will perform for the PTO. Parents, family, and friends are invited to this performance. Chorus is at 8:00a.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays in the music room. Our attendance has been very good and very few tardys/late. Thanks for being there and on time.
