Important Change
Students & Parents,
Due to the forecast of thunderstorms on Thursday, we have decided to move the Holiday World Field trip to Monday, May 19th. We understand that most of you had to take off time from work to chaperone. Please let us know whether or not you will still attend.
Thanks for your understanding.
Please note that those who cannot attend will still be able to use your ticket through June 15, 2008.

Weekly Assignments
Spelling- Mon. - pretest
Tues. - Wed. - work on weekly assignment (due Wed.)
Fri. - TEST *
Language- Be sure your child is still bringing his/ her Daily
Language book home each night to study.
Our Daily Language Quiz is each Friday.
Our class took a pretest on language skills. The class will be using the TCAP
Coach Books to practice and review the skills covered on the TCAP test. We will also
be using the language practice book.
We will be spending the most time on those skills that the pretest indicated were most
difficult for the students.
Math- We are continuing to work on Hands-On-Algebra lessons.
Reading-
- Skill: Sequence
- Story: Music in Harlem
** selection test - Friday
** Your child should be re-reading the story each week
at home before we take the selection test on Friday.
Your child took the STAR READING test and has received
his / her level and goal for this grading period.
*** Accelerated Reader - Your child should be reading at least
20 minutes each night. You and your child will be
amazed at the difference you will see in all subjects
if he / she spends time each night reading. ***
* Accelerated Reader Goals: (adjusted for library time)
1/4 of goal by April 18
1/2 of goal by April 25
3/4 of goal by May 1
Meet goal by May 8
The only way to become a better reader is to practice.
