WOW!  We only have a week & 1/2 of school left. Don't forget our Science Field Trip to Kids Kingdom on Wednesday, May 14th .  Please make sure that your child wears comfortable clothes, sunscreen and tennis shoes.  If you did not order a sack lunch from the cafeteria, please have your child bring one from home.

Our year-end ice cream party is scheduled for Tuesday, May 20th.  Please be on the look out for more information.

I have truly enjoyed being your child's teacher this year.  They have all grown and matured into wonderful 2nd graders.  Keep reading throughout the summer!

        W HAT'S  GOING  ON  IN  OUR  CLASS?                        

READING:  Unit and Year End testing.  We will also do "reader's theater" activities.

SPELLING: Our spelling test this week will be our name, address, phone number, and birthday.  Please help your child practice each night.

HANDWRITING/JOURNALS: We will draw and write about the favorite things that we liked about 1st grade.

LANGUAGE:  We will review nouns, verbs, adjectives, and pronouns.

MATH:  We will finish Saxon Math this week.  We will continue working on measuring and drawing line segments to the nearest centimeter, identify cold, cool, warm and hot temps, subtracting half of a double, identifying events as certain, likely or impossible.

SOCIAL STUDIES: We will continue to learn about jobs that people do and discuss why people work.
