Welcome to the school

counseling web page!  We are excited about working with you, your child, and your child's teacher this year.  Please feel free to contact us with any questions or concerns you may have about your child.  Contact information can be found at the bottom of this page.

Weekly Assignments

We will meet with your child's class once a week for guidance in class.  No homework will be assigned.  Our only expectation is that your child talks with you about what he/she is learning in guidance class!  This helps reinforce our teaching and opens the door for you to have some quality discussion at home. 

Long Range Plans                                                                     

Our guidance curriculum for the year includes three domains:       

     1.  Academics (study skills, test-taking strategies, school success)
     2.  Career awareness (job availability, job skills, finding a career that is fulfilling)
     3.  Personal/social growth (character education, decision-making, conflict resolution,
                                               health & safety)
We will be following the standards that are mandated by the state.

We are also forming small groups for students who need help with grief, stress, anger, and divorce. Parents will be notified of any small group counseling activities that your child is interested in joing.
