She is a graduate of Carson-Newman College, where she earned her Bachelors Degree in Psychology and Sociology.
Mrs. Westveer's love for sign language and working with the Deaf began in childhood. After several opportunities to interpret in church and other public arenas, she began working for Sumner County Schools in the Fall of 2006.
She and her husband have two children. Their family is very involved with their church, and Mrs. Westveer enjoys reading, walking, and spending time with her family. Some of her lifetime goals include traveling extensively both in America and internationally, hang-gliding, and having a life-time supply of dark chocolate.
