Note
from the Teacher
My name is Mrs. Schulte and I want to welcome you to 3rd grade! I am so excited to have you in my classroom. We are going to have a great year and I look forward to spending time with all of you.
To tell you a little bit about myself, I am a second year teacher at Jack Anderson. I received my first teaching position here last year. I graduated from the University of Northern Iowa with a bachelors degree in Elementary Education and Early Childhood Education. I also have a certificate in Spanish Language Studies. Yes, I am from Iowa. I was married and moved all in June of last year! My husbands name is Stephen and I have a yorkie named Benny! I then got my first teaching job in August! It was a year of BIG changes for me. I think this year is going to be great! I can't wait to work with all of you. If you ever have any questions or comments, please feel free to email me.

Weekly Assignments
Parents: Please help your students with their multiplication facts! Each week we have a multiplication test with 100 problems. Some of the children really need some extra help. I highly suggest buying or making multiplication flash cards. They really do help prepare the children for these tests. These tests are timed and go quickly. Flash cards will help them think quickly and move on to the next problem. If you need help or have questions, please email me.
Saxon Math-
121B,122B, and 124B(backside of each math page).
Math homefun (homework) is given daily, except for Wednesday and Friday. There will be some occasions where the children will bring home work on Wednesday and Friday.
Spelling- Spelling words are coming again! Have your child ready for the spelling test on Monday (04/21/08)!
Study's words for the pre-test on Monday. Basic test will be on Friday. We have 20 words to go over. Please spend time with your child each night reviewing the words. I will send home a copy of the pre-test each week. Please look for it in your child's folder. Please make sure that your child is studying and prepared for this test. I have noticed some very low scores on Monday. If your child gets an A on the pre-test, they do not have to take the test on Friday.
