Student Health
Wellness - In compliance with the newly adopted state guidelines for student wellness, we have implemented several new things here at Jack Anderson Elementary. We have a walking program that allows each student 30 minutes of daily walking time in addition to P. E. and recess. In addition, we are more aware of the lunches and snacks that we serve and allow to be brought to our children. We ask that parents keep this in mind when joining your child for an activity, ie. lunch, party, field trip etc. Thanks for your help as we try to provide a healthy environment for your child.
Head Lice - If you have a child who has been sent home with head lice, they must be declared both lice free and nit free in order for them to return to school. A written statement must also be provided and signed by a health care professional stating that the child is both lice free and nit free. If a parent of a student is a health care professional, the note must be signed by another health care professional. Students who do not have all of the before-mentioned cannot return to the classroom. This is not a school policy. It is a county policy. Thank you for your cooperation with this matter.
Illness - Any student who has had a fever may not return to school within a twenty-four hour time period from the time in which it was determined that the student was running a fever. This is also a county policy.
